Passing
Playname: Dribble weave
1
3 or more players, 1 or more balls.

The dribble weave, is similar to a normal weave.

In a weave player 1 passes to player 3 and player 1 runs behind player 3.

Player 3 passes to player 2 and player 3 runs behind player 2.

Then player 2 passes to player 1 and runs behind player 1 starting the begin situation.
2
This Pattern is repeated until the end of the court is reached and a Lay-Up or shot is scored.

You can chose between let the same group come back before a second group starts.

Or let the second group start after the middle line is passed.
In this case the first group waits until the last group has reached the other side of the court and then starts it's way back.
3
The dribble weave differs from a normal weave in that after each pass the receiving player has to make one dribble before passing the ball to the next player.

During a past season I had a player that was fast in the break but, slow in bringing the ball down for a dribble to prevent travelling.

With this drill his handling skills did take a major step in the right direction.

For the team it meant more easy baskets in the break and more games won.
4
While practising this drill.

Make sure the balls are still thrown correctly.

Be very alert on travels made.

While in a dribble go as much as possible in a straight line along the sideline.
