1
6 Players and 1 ball is required for this drill

The group is split into offense and defense. The offensive 3 start on the baseline and the defensive players face their opponents on the free throw line extended.

The coach calls out the number of one of the offensive players (either 1,2 or 3) & passes this player the ball.

In the example, this is offensive player #3.
2
When 3 receives the pass from the coach, his defender must run and touch the baseline while the remainder of the group play 2 vs. 3 until the defender catches the line.

The defenders must communicate and stop the ball as quickly as possible: our target spots are:

1: the ball (containing)
2: the split line (removing options for the offense)

In this case 2 will call "ball" and attack it while 1 will call "split" and get to the spot.

We play for a score and then reverse the offense to defense for the return trip.
