Players/lines that are placed on a court will not go onto the court where I want them.

Check if the Snap checkbox on the edit drawing tab is unchecked.
If it is not unchecked please remove the check mark and try again.
 
When the snap function is checked, an invisible grid is used to align players and lines. The size of the grid can be altered by changing the value behind the check box. It really helps if you want to draw straight lines, circles, squares or align text.
